Obstacle course racing (OCR), considered one of the fastest growing globals sports, and currently under discussion for inclusion in the 2024 Olympics, is a sport in which competitors (either individual or as a team), must overcome various physical challenges that are in the form of obstacles.

Obstacles include, but are not limited to, climbing over walls and rigs, carrying objects, traversing bodies of water or mud, crawling under wire, and jumping through a variety of assemblies.

Many obstacles are similar to those used in military training, while others are unique to obstacle racing and are employed throughout the course to test endurance, strength, speed and, dexterity. Races vary in both distance and challenge level, combining trail runningroad running, as well as cross country running.

Since the inception of organized Obstacle Course Racing in the late 80's, the sport has evolved to a variety of very well established efforts such as Spartan and Tough Mudder.  The level of participants has risen annually to over 6 million enthusiasts and professionals as of 2017.

We anticipate that the next evolution wave of the sport will focus on youth development and competition. For that reason, in addition to our standard adult curriculum, we have established the OCR Youth League to serve as a recreational and development platform.

We have also established Team ALPHA, which will be made of top performers from our youth and adult sectors and will travel to regional races organized by such entities such as Spartan RaceTough Mudder and America Ninja Warrior in addition to other competitions local, regional and nationwide.

A sense of community and experience is an important component to our program.

what are the obstacles like?

While we strive to make our courses challenging and fun, our priority is the safety of all participants. All of our assemblies are built taking safety into consideration. Furthermore, all course running is done under close supervision, obstacle by obstacle with coach presence.

Common obstacles include walls, rings, tire / hay assemblies, monkey bars, cargo nets, ropes, tube tunnels and non threatening target throws.

Under no circumstance will we subject children to obstacles deemed unsafe, overwhelming or designed exclusively for adults (such as extreme temperatures, deep bodies of water, barb wires, spears, heavy carries, etc.).

Finally, a significant part of our training curriculum focuses on proper technique, speed, safety and approach when it comes to obstacles. All of our coaches must undergo obstacle training, instruction and certification in order to participate in the league.
